Active Travel Act review finds delivery progress and data gaps

The Welsh Government has published its statutory review of the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013.

It says the review found progress in route length, local-authority information and Active Travel Network Maps, which it describes as a statutory basis for planning and investment.

The review also identifies data gaps that limit evaluation of behaviour change beyond the explicit reporting requirements, according to the statement.

The government says it does not see a case for legislative reform, and that the unified Regional Transport Fund from 2026–27 will offer opportunities for more integrated planning.
