New active-travel guidance issued for Welsh councils
The guidance is intended to help local authorities meet duties on promoting walking, wheeling and cycling.
The Welsh Government has published guidance for local authorities on promoting active travel to help reduce or limit air pollution and improve public health.
It says the guidance explains duties under the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013, as amended by the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024.
The release says the guidance covers practical measures including wayfinding, visitor information, maps, signage, public-transport links, cycle storage, bike hire and travel to schools and workplaces.
Transport for Wales’ Promotional Toolkit accompanies the guidance, according to the Welsh Government.
