Welsh Government announces £115.9m local transport fund
The 2026–27 Regional Transport Fund allocation includes active travel, road maintenance, public transport access, road safety and EV charging work across Wales.
The Welsh Government says it has awarded £115.9 million to local authorities through its 2026–27 Regional Transport Fund.
It says £58.5 million is for walking, wheeling and cycling, £24.1 million for local highway schemes, £20.9 million for public-transport access, £7 million for road safety and £3.9 million for EV charging infrastructure.
The announcement identifies projects including Penrhyn Bay in Conwy, Brecon High Street, the Haverfordwest multimodal interchange, Caerphilly interchange improvements and work linked to priorities around the M4 corridor.
The Welsh Government says the fund is intended to support more accessible local journeys and integrated transport systems.
